Football career

Vidigal spent most of his career in the lower leagues in Portugal, representing hometown's O Elvas CAD (two spells), G.D. Estoril Praia, S.C. Olhanense and União da Madeira – he also spent two years at Sporting Clube de Portugal, but appeared exclusively for its reserves.

Vidigal's only first division experience came with S.C. Beira-Mar, who signed the player from Olhanense – where he also appeared as a defensive midfielder – on a two-year contract.[1] He only appeared in ten matches in his debut season, and the Aveiro side was relegated.

In the summer of 2008, after a brief stint in Madeira with União, Vidigal joined Clube Recreativo da Caála, returning to the land of his ancestors.[2]

Personal

Vidigal is the youngest of five brothers, all footballers: Beto, Lito – who represented Angola internationally and later became a coach – Luís (played for Sporting and Portugal with success, spent several years in Italy and was coached by Lito at C.F. Estrela da Amadora) and Toni.
